The main component of our cultivation of Japanese maples is the growth of plants in the open field, however during this summer 2023, thanks to the significant contribution of the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development, we managed to create important protection structures, renovating the greenhouses already existing and creating new ones, with mesh covering (anti-insect, anti-frost and anti-hail) to guarantee a protected growth environment for young plants in cultivation and some of those ready for sale.
Tunnel 2: renovation of the existing greenhouse by replacing it with an arched greenhouse with straight walls (7×45 m), with mesh headers and swing doors; Scirocco 50 green mesh covering for the top and Biorete 40 Mesh for the sides; covering the cultivation surface with black Agritela pro;
Tunnel 3: renovation of the existing arched greenhouse with straight walls (8×36 m) by installing aluminum profiles in the ends and sides for fixing the net; supply of Protecta mesh for the top and Biorete 40 Mesh for the sides; covering the cultivation surface with black Agritela pro;
Tunnel B1: new construction of arched greenhouse with straight wall (7X90 m), mesh headers and swing doors; Scirocco 50 black mesh cover, with manual lateral winders; Covering the cultivation surface with black Agritela pro

Collaboration with the company Fogliato Giuseppe e Andrea of Baldissero d’Alba – CN was fundamental during the installation of the networks and the renovation works.

OPERATION 5.1.1 “Prevention of damage from biotic natural disasters”.
The operation finances investments aimed at preventing damage from biotic natural disasters such as anti-insect nets and other types of investments necessary for the net production of vegetables in order to prevent damage from plant diseases or harmful organisms likely to cause disasters and newly introduced harmful organisms notified by the Member State pursuant to Directive 2000/29/EC and Decision 2014/917/EU.
In the specific case, the financing is aimed at agricultural companies to make investments aimed at the prevention and containment of the phytophagous insect Popillia japonica Newman in infested and buffer areas, as defined by the D.D. 12 October 2021, n. 872 of the Phytosanitary Sector and technical-scientific services and of the phytophagous insect Anoplophora glabripennis in infested and buffer areas, as defined by DD 323 of 20 April 2022 and by D.D. 15 April 2019 n. 331 of the Phytosanitary Sector and technical-scientific services.
The total cost of the project was €71,876.07, of which EAFRD €57,500.86
